The research is based on archival documents being put into wide circulation for the first time. The stage of the emergence of the first organizations for young children, created before 1917 for the summer period in individual villages, but which did not receive sustainable support, is considered. The first steps towards the formation of a preschool education system in the Autonomous Region of Komi (Zyryan) in 1921\u00e2\u0080\u00931931 and the noticeable improvement of this system in 1932 \u00e2\u0080\u0093 early 1941 are characterized. A separate chapter is devoted to the study of the transformation of preschool education during the Great Patriotic War.
