The article analyses the conceptual foundations and applied aspects in the organisation of the teaching process for a sports coach. It discusses the structural components of the coach’s pedagogical mastery, the system of multi-year training of athletes, the principles of training load cycling and individualisation of the process. The publication contains information on the influence of age characteristics on the construction of training programs, the methods of control and diagnostics of athletes’ level of fitness. Special attention is paid to the psychological aspects of training and the role of motivation in achieving high sports results.
